What
is 5-axis Machining?

5-axis CNC machining is a form of precision milling that is made up of five free axes, and thus the machine is able to have a part cut at several angles at the same time. The method allows making very complicated geometries, complex contours, and fine details that may be hard or impossible to achieve by conventional processes. Best suited to industries where the highest accuracy is required, 5-axis machining is capable of machining a full variety of materials such as metals, plastics and composites.

5-axis VS. 3-axis Machining

The big distinction between 5-axis machining and 3-axis machining is the added rotational movement 3-axis machining is limited to work on three fixed planes, and 5-axis machining offers greater flexibility in more complex shapes and tight tolerance. The 5-axis allows complex geometries, undercuts, and complicated finishes on the surface to be realized without having a number of setups.

Rapid Tooling

Rapid tooling let’s you go faster to go from an idea to functional parts. With our advanced CNC machining service, we create molds and tooling with precision needed to test designs, validate fit, and function and bring products to market faster. It’s perfect for prototypes, low volume runs, and early-stage development where outworking competitors is critical and precision matters most.

Production Tooling

For our production tooling, we prioritize long-term durability. With top grade materials and precision CNC machining, we make tooling that allows full-scale production without losing accuracy. If you need thousands of the same parts, and even with batch production, we deliver consistent, reliable tooling and stable production cycles.

Why Choose Us for Custom 5-Axis CNC Machining Services?

We at Rapid Precision take pride in offering some of the most precise 5-axis CNC machining in the industry. Regardless of the complexity of the machining that is required, our global network of certified suppliers allows for top of the line results to be produced for engineers, manufacturers, and designers alike.

We support your needs with quick lead times, and competitive pricing from prototypes to large production runs with no transparency lost in our dealings. We have engineering grade quality control, so you can trust us with precision, reliability, and delivery, on time; you can obtain a quick price and design review from our Instant Quoting Engine so that you can be certain that each part will be made to your specifications.

What can be machined using 5-axis CNC?

The materials that can be machined are wide, hence, we can machine metals which include aluminium stainless steel, brass, copper, and even plastics such as ABS, POM, acrylic etc.

The lead time on prototypes is normally 5-7 days depending on the complexity of parts. In case of urgent projects, we provide rush production.

Parts up to 4000 x 1500 x 600 mm can be machined and so large-scale projects with strict tolerances can be done.

All you have to do is upload your CAD file to our Instant Quoting Engine(r) and you have a detailed price estimate, lead time and design feedback within minutes.

Yes, we serve small production batches and large scale production. We offer 5-axis CNC services that can be expanded to meet the requirements of your project.
